The Orb of Bones – 100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups – Week#41

08 May

I made a mistake with my last entry. I read it as the word was bones, but it’s actually a picture prompt.

So here’s the entry –

‘I can’t see anything!’

‘Of course you can’t Kev, we’re in a cave!’

Len got annoyed with his brother; didn’t he know how important this was? They carried on walking further into the cave. Len was right, it was very dark, but that didn’t matter, what mattered was ‘The Orb of Bones’.

They started to feel crunching under their feet, and the cave became lighter, ‘We must be close!’ whispered Kev.

‘Kev, Look!’

There, under the beam of sunlight coming from a crack, sat what they came for, they finally found the Orb; this was worth coming down here for.

Hiya, could you delete ‘The guilty secret’… I mistook the theme as bones, not the picture. 🙂 Thank you! 🙂

You had me going with the suspense here. Now I’m wondering what significance The Orb of Bones holds.

Adventure! Sounds like a great tale could be spun around this – love the crunching of the bones underfoot.

I really like the dialogue between the brothers, especially with the humour and annoyance at the start, then the agreed reverence at the end. It highlights that the orb is something special.
