The Orb of Bones – 100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups – Week#41

I made a mistake with my last entry. I read it as the word was bones, but it’s actually a picture prompt.

So here’s the entry –

‘I can’t see anything!’

‘Of course you can’t Kev, we’re in a cave!’

Len got annoyed with his brother; didn’t he know how important this was? They carried on walking further into the cave. Len was right, it was very dark, but that didn’t matter, what mattered was ‘The Orb of Bones’.

They started to feel crunching under their feet, and the cave became lighter, ‘We must be close!’ whispered Kev.

‘Kev, Look!’

There, under the beam of sunlight coming from a crack, sat what they came for, they finally found the Orb; this was worth coming down here for.

The guilty secret. (2nd attempt of the 100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups – Week#41)

Stepping on the scales again, only 2lbs lost.

‘I’ve been good this week!’ she screamed at the nurse.

The nurse looked at her, and then at her food diary, ‘Are you sure you’ve been completely honest?’

Jess thought back over the week, of course she has, she was even good when she went out with the girls on Friday! Then it dawned on her, she did get very drunk on Friday and then fancied that fried chicken, she even dropped the chicken bones in the bin up the road to hide the evidence.

‘Of course I have!’ she answered guiltily.

This week’s word – Bones.

MY FIRST GO at – 100 Word Challenge for Grown Ups – Week #40

She sat there, ready and waiting in her wedding dress, Amelia finally had 5 minutes to herself. She sat looking at her ruby engagement ring.

Was she making the right decision? She loved him, of course, there was no denying that, but was marrying him worth loosing everything she ever knew and held dear? Would their love really conquer all and survive this?

She couldn’t imagine her life without her family, but she also couldn’t imagine her life without him. She just didn’t know what to do.

There was a knock at the door.

‘The car’s here, you ready to go?’

(this week’s word – Ruby)
